About Vacumaid Central Vacuums

Vacumaid is a brand name of Lindsay Manufacturing, Inc. and was originally formed as Thermodynamics, Inc. in 1956. They later changed the company name to VacuMaid in 1960 to better align with their interest in the vacuum cleaning industry. Throughout the 60s and 70s VacuMaid obtaining several patents for pioneering changes in the industry. During this time they released vacuum units sold under their trade names, AstroVac® and VacuMaid®.

By the 70s, the company had grown its distribution network through the united states and had started to make its way into several European countries as well as Australia.

In 1987, the Company changed its name to Lindsay Manufacturing, Inc. as they had grown into manufacturing for several trade names. Today, they still manufacture central vacuum systems, intercom systems, and more under their trade names: AstroVac®, VacuMaid®, SilentPartner®, VacZoom®, Dust Mate®, SuperGroom®, AudioTech®, and Valet®.
