This mounting bracket should only be used for a genuine Nutone 360 standard inlet. This Mounting Bracket comes with a 90 degree elbow included (not pictured). IMPORTANT: Do not throw away plaster guard. Replace in metal flange before plastering.
Wall inlet valves cannot be installed without using mounting brackets, so compatibility between the two is essential. Some manufacturers choose to eliminate these compatibility issues by designing mounting brackets to match their own specific wall inlet valve models. Thus, the Genuine NuTone CF361 mounting bracket is designed to fit the CI360 standard wall inlet in the NuTone catalog.
Equipped with a plaster guard to protect it against leaking paint, pieces of drywall and other potential threats, this mounting bracket comes with a 90-degree elbow fitting as well (not pictured). As for the size, this 3.2-ounce fitting measures exactly 1 inch in height, 1 inch in length and finally 1 inch in width, which comes to contradict the NuTone pattern to some extent.
A closer look at the wall inlets manufactured by NuTone will reveal that they usually have a horizontal orientation. More specifically, their width usually exceeds their height. Therefore, the fact that the Genuine NuTone CF361 mounting bracket will also mount into the stud horizontally might not come as a surprise. Its installation requires its nailing to the side of the stud in such a way that its front side is flush to that of the stud. Subsequently, the cardboard will be removed from the plaster guard and the flanged support and inlet seal screwed into position. Finally, the cardboard will be replaced in the plaster guard. However, these operations must be performed after the attachment of the low-voltage wire.
